Self-host PodFetch on DockHive

Sleek podcast downloader with GPodder sync

PodFetch is a sleek and efficient self-hosted podcast manager written in Rust. It automatically downloads new episodes of your favorite podcasts on a configurable interval and lets you listen to them from a clean, fast web UI on any device. Its standout feature is a GPodder-compatible sync API: keep using mobile podcast apps like AntennaPod while subscriptions, episode actions, and playback positions stay in sync with your server.

Running PodFetch on DockHive

Smallest size

PodFetch needs at least a Micro HivePod (about $2 a month if it runs all the time). Smaller sizes can't be picked for it. It is billed by the hour while it runs, from your plan's included vCPU-hours first, and a stopped pod costs nothing.

Its own HTTPS address

PodFetch gets its own HTTPS address as soon as it's running. You can also serve it on your own domain: add the domain to the pod and the certificate is issued automatically.

Your data and backups

PodFetch's data stays on the pod's disk and survives restarts. HivePod backups include all of it, and restoring a backup brings back the same app with the same data.

Questions about hosting PodFetch

How do I self-host PodFetch on DockHive?

Open HivePods → App Marketplace in the DockHive console, pick PodFetch, choose a size and a region and click Install. It runs in its own HivePod at its own HTTPS address, usually in about a minute.

How much does it cost to run PodFetch?

An app pod is billed like any HivePod: by the hour while it runs, from your plan's included vCPU-hours first. PodFetch needs at least a Micro pod, which is about $2 a month if it runs all the time. A stopped pod costs nothing.

Where is my PodFetch data kept?

On the pod's disk, in the region you picked. It survives restarts, HivePod backups include it, and restoring a backup brings back the same app with the same data.

Can I put PodFetch on my own domain?

Yes. Add your domain on the pod's Custom domains card, create the CNAME and TXT records it shows at your DNS provider, and the HTTPS certificate is issued once the domain is verified.

Is PodFetch made by DockHive?

No. PodFetch is an open-source project by its own developers; see samtv12345.github.io/PodFetch for its documentation. DockHive's App Marketplace installs and runs it for you.
