pusher-js + pusher
// Browser
const pusher = new Pusher('YOUR_APP_KEY', {
  wsHost: 'realtime-eu.dockhive.io',

What it's for

Make your app feel alive.

Live updates

Dashboards and feeds

Orders, prices, scores and deploy logs that update on screen the moment they change, with no refresh.

Chat

Messaging and presence

Chat rooms, typing indicators and who's online, with private and presence channels your server controls.

Notifications

Alerts to every device

Send to one user on every tab and phone they have open, or broadcast to everyone at once.

How it works

Live in three steps.

  1. 1

    Create an app

Pick the region closest to your users. You get an app ID, key and secret.

  2. 2

    Connect your frontend

Use pusher-js or Laravel Echo with your key and the app's host.

  3. 3

    Send from your server

Trigger events with any Pusher server library. Every subscriber gets them instantly.

Features

Everything you use on Pusher.

Channels, presence, client events, user messages and webhooks, with the same libraries and the same payloads.

Pusher compatible

Use pusher-js, Laravel Echo and the Pusher server libraries. Moving over is a change of host and keys.

Every channel type

Public, private, private encrypted and presence channels, authorized by your own server.

Presence

Show who's online and who's typing. Members join and leave in real time, once per user however many tabs they open.

Client events

Let browsers talk to each other directly for typing indicators, cursors and live collaboration.

Message one user

Sign users in, then send to every device a user has open, or disconnect them, from your server.

Webhooks

Know when channels become busy or empty and when members join or leave, with signed webhooks.

Live debug console

Watch connections, subscriptions and events as they happen, right in the DockHive console.

Eight regions

Put each app close to its users, from Los Angeles and London to Lagos, Abuja and Singapore.

Regions

Close to your users.

  • USUnited States (Los Angeles)
  • EUEurope (London)
  • DEGermany (Frankfurt)
  • ASAsia (Singapore)
  • AFSouth Africa (Johannesburg)

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Guides for every library are in the Hive Realtime docs.

What is Hive Realtime?

Hive Realtime sends messages to browsers and mobile apps the moment something happens: live dashboards, chat, notifications, presence and collaboration. Your server sends an event to a channel and every subscribed client gets it instantly.

Does it work with Pusher libraries?

Yes. Hive Realtime speaks the Pusher Channels protocol, so pusher-js, Laravel Echo and the official Pusher server libraries for Node.js, PHP, Python, Go and Ruby work as they are. You set the host and your Hive Realtime keys.

How do I move from Pusher?

Create an app in the region closest to your users, then change the host, app ID, key and secret in your frontend and server. Your channels, events, auth endpoints and webhook handlers stay the same.

How are messages counted?

An event you send counts once per channel, plus once for each connection it reaches. A client event counts once plus its deliveries. The daily count resets at midnight UTC.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The Free Tier includes 2 apps, 100 connections at once and 200,000 messages a day in each region, with no card required.

Where does my app run?

In the region you pick when you create it: United States, Europe, Germany, Portugal, Asia, South Africa or Nigeria (Lagos or Abuja). Clients and servers connect to that region.

200,000 messages a day, free.
