Self-host LibreDB Studio on DockHive

Open-source self-hosted SQL IDE

LibreDB Studio is an open-source (MIT), self-hosted SQL IDE. It provides a modern web-based interface to connect to twenty-seven database engines (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, Db2, SQL Server, MongoDB, Redis, ClickHouse, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Prometheus, Apache Kafka, Neo4j, Qdrant, Milvus, InfluxDB, etcd and more), browse schemas, and write and run queries from any browser on your LAN. Three of the twenty-seven are read-only because their own SQL is. Druid, Elasticsearch and OpenSearch have no UPDATE and no CREATE TABLE at all. Several more are read-only by construction.

Running LibreDB Studio on DockHive

Smallest size

LibreDB Studio needs at least a Micro HivePod (about $2 a month if it runs all the time). Smaller sizes can't be picked for it. It is billed by the hour while it runs, from your plan's included vCPU-hours first, and a stopped pod costs nothing.

Its own HTTPS address

LibreDB Studio gets its own HTTPS address as soon as it's running. You can also serve it on your own domain: add the domain to the pod and the certificate is issued automatically.

Your data and backups

LibreDB Studio's data stays on the pod's disk and survives restarts. HivePod backups include all of it, and restoring a backup brings back the same app with the same data.

Questions about hosting LibreDB Studio

How do I self-host LibreDB Studio on DockHive?

Open HivePods → App Marketplace in the DockHive console, pick LibreDB Studio, choose a size and a region and click Install. It runs in its own HivePod at its own HTTPS address, usually in about a minute.

How much does it cost to run LibreDB Studio?

An app pod is billed like any HivePod: by the hour while it runs, from your plan's included vCPU-hours first. LibreDB Studio needs at least a Micro pod, which is about $2 a month if it runs all the time. A stopped pod costs nothing.

Where is my LibreDB Studio data kept?

On the pod's disk, in the region you picked. It survives restarts, HivePod backups include it, and restoring a backup brings back the same app with the same data.

Can I put LibreDB Studio on my own domain?

Yes. Add your domain on the pod's Custom domains card, create the CNAME and TXT records it shows at your DNS provider, and the HTTPS certificate is issued once the domain is verified.

Is LibreDB Studio made by DockHive?

No. LibreDB Studio is an open-source project by its own developers; see github.com/libredb/libredb-studio/tree/main/docs for its documentation. DockHive's App Marketplace installs and runs it for you.
