Running Grist on DockHive
Smallest size
Grist needs at least a Small HivePod (about $4 a month if it runs all the time). Smaller sizes can't be picked for it. It is billed by the hour while it runs, from your plan's included vCPU-hours first, and a stopped pod costs nothing. A Small pod needs more than the Free Tier's 1 vCPU, so use the Developer or Pro Plan.
Its databases are included
Grist comes with PostgreSQL and Redis inside the same HivePod, set up for you with their own generated passwords. Only the app can reach them, and you pay for the pod's size only.
Its own HTTPS address
Grist gets its own HTTPS address as soon as it's running. You can also serve it on your own domain: add the domain to the pod and the certificate is issued automatically.
Set up at install
The install form asks for 3 settings before Grist starts, such as the details you sign in with. Everything else, including passwords other services need, is generated for you.
Your data and backups
Grist's data stays on the pod's disk and survives restarts. HivePod backups include all of it, and restoring a backup brings back the same app with the same data.

Questions about hosting Grist
How do I self-host Grist on DockHive?
Open HivePods → App Marketplace in the DockHive console, pick Grist, choose a size and a region and click Install. It runs in its own HivePod at its own HTTPS address, usually in about a minute.
How much does it cost to run Grist?
An app pod is billed like any HivePod: by the hour while it runs, from your plan's included vCPU-hours first. Grist needs at least a Small pod, which is about $4 a month if it runs all the time. A stopped pod costs nothing.
Where is my Grist data kept?
On the pod's disk, in the region you picked. It survives restarts, HivePod backups include it, and restoring a backup brings back the same app with the same data.
Do I need a separate database for Grist?
No. Grist comes with PostgreSQL and Redis inside the same HivePod, set up for you. You pay for the pod's size only, nothing extra for the database.
Can I put Grist on my own domain?
Yes. Add your domain on the pod's Custom domains card, create the CNAME and TXT records it shows at your DNS provider, and the HTTPS certificate is issued once the domain is verified.
Is Grist made by DockHive?
No. Grist is an open-source project by its own developers; see support.getgrist.com for its documentation. DockHive's App Marketplace installs and runs it for you.
